About

The adventure begins meeting at Amalgamated Helicopters in Carterton, Wairarapa. Customers are given a briefing on the day's itinerary, sized up with river equipment and given safety instructions for the helicopter ride. We then load all equipment into the chopper and enjoy a gorgeous scenic 10-minute flight over the Tararua ranges and land riverside at Totara flats. Boats are pumped, a river safety briefing is given, and thanks to the awa/river is said. We then paddle 10 kilometers down the spectacular grade 2+ section of the Waiohine River, stopping halfway for a riverside lunch and to test out all the good rock jumping spots. High-quality photos and transport back to your vehicles are all included in this package.
