About

Stonehenge Aotearoa, nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Wairarapa, is a modern-day marvel that echoes the mysteries of its ancient namesake. But unlike its British counterpart, this stone circle isn't shrouded in the mists of time. It's a working observatory, a celestial calendar, and a testament to the ingenuity of both ancient and modern astronomers. You'll learn about the astronomical alignments of the stones and how they were used to track the movements of the sun, moon, and stars. You'll discover how the builders of Stonehenge Aotearoa incorporated knowledge from cultures around the world, including the ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, and Polynesians. Watch the sunset from within the stones - an amazing spectacle.
