About

Enjoy exhibitions with artefacts from Marlborough's 700 year old Polynesian arrival site. Exhibitions also cover: the arrival of Captain James Cook in 1769; the whaling days of the 1820s and 1830s; and European Settlement, including the Wairau Affray in 1843. Discover the Victorian Rooms, and selections from our unique historic textiles, toys, and photograph collections.

Our big day of the year is Heritage Day on 6 February every year. We love to see the Park ALIVE with pioneer heritage skills showcasing lost trades and unique collections.

Marlborough Archives is open for research on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
