Tūroa sits on the south-western slopes of Mt Ruapehu and is a 25-minute drive up from Ohakune. Tūroa is one of New Zealand's largest ski areas with Australasia’s longest vertical drop at 722m. The High Noon Express six-seater chairlift reaches the highest lifted point in New Zealand, offering panoramic views of the North Island. Its cliffs, bowls and volcanic terrain make it feel like you’re out in the winter wilderness, even when you’re skiing or riding within the ski area boundary. Tūroa can be likened to one very large playground.
