Tick off New Zealand's most stunning multi-day walks, one adventure at a time.
New Zealand's eleven Great Walks are premier hiking tracks that pass through some of the country’s most spectacular scenery and national parks. The tracks are well-formed and easy to follow, taking between three to five days to complete. A moderate level of fitness, basic outdoor skills, and sturdy hiking boots are essential.
The Great Walks season typically runs from October to April, although some tracks can be tackled during the colder months of May to September by those with advanced mountaineering skills. Basic huts and campsites are provided but must be booked in advance due to limited capacity. Most people choose to organise their trip independently, but guided options are also available.
