All flights depart from the Rotorua City Lakefront, Memorial Drive. This flight operates with a minimum of 2 adult fares. Children under 2 are free of charge, children aged 2-11 years pay a child fare (which is 75% of the adult fare). Check in time is 15 minutes prior to departure.
Should cancellation occur within 30 days of the date of travel a 25% cancellation fee will apply. If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the date of travel a 75% cancellation fee will apply. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the date of travel a 100% cancellation fee will apply. Should Volcanic Air cancel the booking due to unsuitable weather conditions or for circumstances beyond our control, then a full refund will apply.
Departing our city lakefront Floatplane pier experience the thrill of a floatplane take off before climbing above Mokoia Island on track to our hidden lakes district. Climbing over our eastern ridgeline our terrain reveals the lakes of Okataina, Tarawera, Okareka, Rotokakahi (Green Lake) and Tikitapu (Blue Lake). These stunning crater lakes are surrounded by native forests and pastoral lands, hidden from the city by our volcanic terrain only an aerial perspective reveals the true beauty of this region. Returning to the Lakefront our descent takes us across the Rotorua city before landing back at Lake Rotorua.
