The tour departs New Plymouth on the picturesque west coast & meanders up to Waitomo, famous for its magnificent glow worms & natural limestone cave formations. Then to the Coromandel Peninsula, a spectacular headland of golden bays & lush primeval forest, before weaving down to the Hobbiton ™ movie set and the geothermal & cultural wonderland that is Rotorua. From here, we head east to the pretty harbour town of Whakatane, before embarking on a mini adventure along State Highway 35, around the beautiful, remote Te Tai Rāwhiti (Coast of the Sunrise). After a stay in New Zealand’s National Arboretum, we drive through the internationally renowned wine regions of Gisborne & Hawke’s Bay to the ‘art deco’ city of Napier ending in Wellington.
