This trips goes ahead with a minimum of 10 people. Trips may be cancelled due to poor weather or low bookings numbers.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of tour date incur a 100% cancellation fee. If we need to cancel due to poor or unsafe weather conditions on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, we offer a transfer on your ticket to another day that suits you or a full refund. No refund is given in the case of missing the bus.
Taupō is a great base for the Crossing, with a great range of accommodation, restaurants and hot pools to enjoy before and after your hike. We pick up from most central Taupō accommodation providers, or from the Taupō Visitor Information Centre if you're further out. In the morning, we take you directly to the Mangatepopo track start and afternoon pickup is from the Ketetahi end, around 3:30–4pm (confirmed the day before). That gives you a generous 8 hours on the track. When you book, we will confirm the meeting point, and on the day, we provide a map and an information sheet so you feel prepared and confident. For 28 years, we've been helping hikers safely experience this iconic track - we look forward to helping you too.
