If we need to cancel due to poor or unsafe weather conditions on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, we offer a transfer on your ticket to another day that suits you or a full refund. No refund is given in the case of missing the bus. There are no refunds for no shows or missing the bus. Please make sure you are early and in the correct car park. Follow our instructions.
Great option for those that have their own car and want flexibility in time and low cost transport. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing goes from one side of the mountain to the other. A very popular option for the independent travellers is to park at the end of the track at Ketetahi on SH46 and to catch a one way shuttle to the start of the track at Mangatepopo. This way you are hiking back to your car. No need to wait for or miss a bus in the afternoon. When you book online we send you clear directions on how to get there and where to park. The parking area is on SH46 near the Ketetahi car park. We give you a map and information sheet to help you enjoy, respect and be safe in this alpine environment.
