Geothermal wonders, energetic cities, soaring mountains and turquoise lakes are just some of the highlights of this two week itinerary. Journey north to south as you travel from Auckland, City of Sails, to the picturesque alpine town of Queenstown.
You'll enjoy world-class food and wine as well landscapes that promise to take your breath away. Along the way, friendly locals and easy transport options make this a holiday you'll remember for life.
One of the best things about this itinerary is that you don't need a car to get around. Domestic flights, regular coaches, ferries and trains means that somebody else takes care of the driving and transport, so you can focus on enjoying every minute of your time in New Zealand.
Day 1 / 14
Fly in to Auckland today and choose to rest and relax or explore the inner city and beyond. An energetic and colourful city surrounded by harbours and beaches, Auckland is great to experience on foot. Stroll the Viaduct Harbour, enjoy a café lunch in the hip Britomart precinct or choose to take an organised tour. Plenty of taxis and a great public transport makes getting around the city simple.
A short 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland lies Waiheke Island, a relaxing haven of wineries, white sand beaches and art galleries. See the Fullers or Explore websites for more information on ferry departure times. Public buses and taxis make Waiheke easy to get around, or you can take a tour - sightseeing, wine tasting or Maori culture are just some of the Island's many options.
This is the heart of Auckland, with a relaxed coastal living vibe by day and a night-time energy shared by the inner-city suburbs that surrounds it.
