About

Pīhopa Retreat occupies a historic bishop's estate built in 1859, set within 5.5 acres of landscaped gardens minutes from central Nelson. Each of the six suites has a separate bedroom and lounge, a private balcony, a gas fireplace, and a bathroom with rain shower and jacuzzi bath. Mornings begin with a chef-prepared breakfast in the original Bishopdale Chapel, and evening start with poolside drinks and canapes before complimentary transport to one of Nelson’s top restaurants. This is luxury with a light footprint: The retreat holds Qualmark 5-Star and Gold Tier Sustainable Tourism certification. Nelson is the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park, making Pīhopa well placed for exploring the top of the South Island.
