Check out the Ministry for Culture and Heritage's audio guide to Picton in the Video tab.
With the advent of roll-on, roll-off vehicle ferries across Cook Strait in 1962, Picton became a transport hub. The town is home to the hulk of the globe-trotting ship Edwin Fox, built in 1853 for the East India Company, and now preserved as part of a museum.
