A Northland golf experience offers international-quality resort courses and picture-perfect local gems set amongst spectacular coastal scenery.
Northland's remarkable coast lines feature sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic peninsulas. The region also boasts two international standard golf courses, Kauri Cliffs and Carrington Resort.
Carrington Resort
Located on the Karikari Peninsula, Carrington Resort's course is the centrepiece of a diverse resort complex. The unique feature of the Carrington golf course is that, although it has an ocean-side location, it looks and plays like an "inland golf" course, complete with rolling hills, vales, and natural water hazards.
Carrington stresses the natural contours of its location on the gently sloping lower levels of a hillside site adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. The resultant effect is the challenging play of a rolling inland golf course but with the beautiful ocean vistas of its seaside location.
Kauri Cliffs
Sister property to Cape Kidnappers in the Hawke's Bay region, Kauri Cliffs has gained a worldwide reputation for its incredible panoramic views as much as its quality golf offering.
While the majority of holes hug the coastal bluffs, the remainder of the course features beautiful inland holes that wind through marsh, forest and farmland.
Designed by David Harman, the 6510-metre par 72 course overlooks the nearby Cavalli Islands and is consistently ranked among the top 100 golf courses in the world.
