Continental breakfast may be available in Observatory Lodge at an additional cost of $30/meal. Short stay surcharge of $250 applies to stays of less than 3 nights.
Minimum stay 3 nights otherwise short stay surcharge of $250 will apply. Generally not suitable for children under 12 due to hazards such as high decks and unfenced stream. Please Note: Credit and debit cards no longer accepted. Payment may be made by direct credit to our New Zealand bank account or by cash.
Reservations cancelled within 7 days of arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. This will rise to 100% during Summer holiday season (December 25- April 1 inclusive and over Easter period).
The Cottage contains three cosy bedrooms - one with a queen bed and two with a single bed in each as well as a sitting room and fully equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, oven and microwave. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and separate toilet.
The cottage is set in a large garden with access to a peaceful picnic area adjacent to the stream that runs through the 18 acre property and is only a 3 minute stroll from the observatory. You will most probably wake to the sight and sounds of a range of native New Zealand and migratory birds enjoying the New Zealand bush clad hills. In the evening you might be lucky enough to hear the native New Zealand owl, the Ruru/Morepork, as they call to each other across the valley.
