Join Adventure Consultants on a foray into the attractive Ahuriri Valley, with its vast swathes of rugged mountain country, alpine tussock and beech forest. Our 4-day Mount Barth Guided Ascent does not require helicopter access, allowing us to enjoy this beautiful region without the added cost of air access.
The hike in follows the broad banks of the braided Ahuriri River before climbing up through a dramatic gorge. The ascent of Mount Barth is moderate, with interesting climbing through snowfields and glacial terrain, and panoramic summit views. We climb in a rewarding day before heading back down the valley for a celebration dinner and beer! The spectacular scenery and ease of access make this a classic Kiwi adventure.
