Travel up Queen Street, past the Auckland University and through the park, known as the Domain. Continue on through Ponsonby with its historic buildings before heading over the Harbour Bridge. Stroll on Narrow Neck Beach in historic Devonport then up to the summit of Mt Victoria. Travel back over the Harbour Bridge to Westhaven Marina - the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere. In the afternoon you leave behind the bustle of the city and step into the tranquility of the rainforest, starting with amazing views and Maori carvings at a visitors centre. A guided walk in the native rainforest is followed by a visit to the black sand beach of Piha where you can go for a stroll on one of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand.
