A one-off cleaning and maintenance fee of NZD $350 applies per stay. Rates are per night for the whole property (sleeps up to 7), not per person.
Whole-property booking - your group has exclusive use of the bach, grounds and private lake access. Sleeps a maximum of 7 guests. Self check-in via smart lock (code emailed before arrival). Well-behaved pets welcome by prior arrangement. No parties or events. Minimum stay may apply on peak dates and holiday weekends.
Free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival receive a 50% refund; no refund within 48 hours of check-in or for no-shows. Date changes subject to availability. See mahutapoint.co/booking for the policy applying to your dates.
Mahuta Point is a traditional Kiwi bach (holiday home) in Waitahanui, lovingly restored to blend classic Lake Taupō character with modern comfort. Inside are 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 7, 1.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen and an open-plan living area warmed by a fireplace. The heart of the home is the large deck overlooking the lake - perfect for morning coffee, an evening BBQ or pizza from the outdoor oven, and watching the sun set over the water. Private lake access lets you fish, swim or launch a kayak from your doorstep. With high-speed WIFI, heating, off-street parking, an outdoor shower and easy self check-in, it suits families and small groups. Just 14km from Taupō town, near trout fishing, biking and hiking trails. Pets welcome.
