It is expected that you will have the ability to ride a mountain bike off road on narrow single track trails. The minimum age of solo riders is 17 years but no limit for a rider with their parent or Guardian. The Gorge reserve the right to cancel any shuttle day or accommodation package for any reason that it deems fit. Riders booked on these days will be given the opportunity to transfer their booking to another day.

There is no mountain bike park in New Zealand that compares to The Gorge. The Gorge MTB Park runs shuttles for an expansive range of trails near Nelson. Its location nestled against the Richmond forest park with views over to Golden Bay set you up for a mountain biker paradise. The 70km of trails are graded as having 73% grade 3-4 and the rest grade 5-6. The trails are more technical than flow but are well sign posted with routes marked to find your way down. The revolving shuttles allow for plenty of time to make the most of your day. Stay at one of our mountain lodge/huts. There is so much riding for the intermediate rider with room to be challenged and then there is 'The Dark Side'.
