Department of Conservation (DOC) or Private Accommodation Bookings along the Whanganui River.
This trip is a bit more relaxed than any of our other trips. You still must be able to swim. Minimum age of 7. Good health and fitness levels. Read safety disclaimers before making your booking.
The four day Canoe trip from Whakahoro to Pipiriki is the trip we really recommend if you are bringing your family to explore the Whanganui River. Meet us at the Raetihi Holiday Park the afternoon before your trip and we will give you your safety briefing & you can pack your gear without a rush in the morning. We will drive you to Whakahoro & you will leisurely paddle through the gorges to your first campsite. You will book this with Department of Conservation (DOC), but for the four day trip we would recommend Ohauora, Mangawaiiti & for a touch of the home comforts on your last night the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge is an excellent option - otherwise Tieke is just across the river & that provides a little bit of culture & history.
