Friends of Ngā Manu (Members) - unlimited free entry for the year. Memberships start at $50 for a senior membership and go up to $100 for a family membership. Children 4 and under – Free entry. Dependent disabled persons and their carers – Free entry. Students, Community Services or SuperGold Card (65 and over) – $14 entry. 1 Adult Family (up to 3 children aged 5 – 17) – $27 entry. 2 Adult Family (up to 3 children aged 5 – 17) – $37 entry.
If you book a tour, experience or accommodation we appreciate a call if you are no longer able to come so that we can offer your place to someone else.
Tucked between the hills and the ocean there is a precious remnant of the once abundant Kāpiti lowland swamp forest. Visitors to Ngā Manu will enjoy the accessible and compact 14h site, whether it be the forest, walk-in native bird enclosures or picnicking lawns beside the ponds. Ngā Manu contributes to national and local conservation through its involvement in many species breeding programmes such as kiwi, tuatara, whio/blue duck, as well as endangered lizard species and plant conservation. Take part in the eel feed or take a Native Bird or Reptile Close Encounter. Come back at dusk and see Kiwi up close on a Kiwi Night Encounter or enjoy the magic of the reserve all to yourself & stay overnight in the reserve cottage available for hire.
