This tour is available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's.
Bookings can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before reservation, depending on availability. Cancellation requires 48 hours' notice to receive a full refund. PJ's may cancel, postpone or visit alternative sites due to weather conditions and/or traditional ceremonies taking place, or when PJ's determines it is unsafe to operate. In the event that PJ's cancels a tour, this will be fully refundable.
Enter the Māori world under the guidance of our tribal ancestors at the Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa with a traditional karakia or prayer. Travel to a medicinal garden to learn about Māori plant life. Rongoa Māori is the ancient practice of plant-based healing, blending science with spirituality. Visit a traditional Māori village and be welcomed inside a spiritual meeting house by a local elder and learn all about the Māori world and their belief systems. Enjoy a picnic lunch and connect on a personal level with your guide while contributing to a local community garden. End your tour with a kawakawa tea ceremony and traditional farewell. This small group tour is the perfect way to connect with the Māori culture.
