A stay at River Valley need not be about taking part in an adventure (although rafting, horse trekking and cycling are all options). There are also plenty of places to just relax with a book, immerse yourself in nature, and enjoy the peace and quiet.

A Riverside ensuite room. The lodge offers a range of accommodation, from shared bunk rooms to private ensuite rooms.
The River Valley Kitchen serves fresh, farm-to-table meals. We do not publish a menu, as our chefs are encouraged to get creative with whatever fresh and seasonal produce is growing in the gardens at River Valley Acres.
Guests can relax in the River Valley Spa. We have a hot tub overlooking the river, wood fired sauna, infa-red sauna and outdoor rainforest shower.
River Valley is a great place to gather. With 2 meeting rooms available for meetings, events, conferences, or just a group gathering.

River Valley Lodge is tucked away near Taihape, at the base of the Ruahine Ranges and Mt Aorangi, on the banks of the Rangitikei River — far enough from the tourist trail to feel like a genuine escape. Accommodation ranges from bunk rooms to ensuite Riverside Suites, so whether you're after a solo adventure or a romantic getaway, we have something to suit. We believe the best way to experience this place is to get out in it - by raft, on horseback, or on an E-bike. The Rangitikei is recognised as one of the finest rafting rivers in New Zealand and the world, and it starts right here at our doorstep. After a day on the river or trails, Miranda's kitchen takes care of the rest.
