Originally built in 1861, the Old Oak is in a registered heritage building. It been restored and remodeled, featuring stylishly decorated rooms. The waterfront property has cottage gardens and harbour views. It is a short walk on the scenic boardwalk into the village where you will find cafes, shops, and other historic buildings. Mangōnui is the gateway to Cape Reinga - perfect for a day trip up to the iconic lighthouse, climb the Te Paki sand dunes, or take a drive on Ninety Mile Beach. It is also truly a beach paradise, where you can visit the many sandy beaches of Doubtless Bay.
