First part of tour is going past Rays Rest a local motorhome freedom camping area, this has a lovely view of the bay and makes for some lovely photos.
There will be country parts of trail going to Waitakaruru, a lovely flat track which is made just for cyclists. You see the beautiful Miranda and Kaiaua in many different ways. There is a cafe and dairy at Waitakaruru.
You will discover many farm life areas on the trail. Every area you travel through on Hauraki Rail Trail is definitely rural life at its best.
The tunnel is one part of Trail that is fun, we encourage light usage, if you have a Ebike then you can go through with your bike light.

Children to ride ebikes 16 and over unless parental consent. 20% payment/deposit. Must sign waiver for safe operation of Ebikes or normal bikes. Charges for cancellations at short notice: Cancellations within the last 4 days before the event: Full fee applies. Cancellations between 4 and 14 days before the event: 50% of the fee applies. Cancellations between 14 and 28 days: 20% of the fee applies. For agents, the same conditions apply. Minimal charges, to help cover administration costs: Small bookings, value up to NZ$250: NZ$25. Booking value over NZ$250: NZ$50.
