The Waitomo Caves Museum is New Zealand's only specialist speleological museum. Of course we are - there are hundreds and hundreds of caves in Waitomo Caves - it's all in the name.
This award-winning centre shows you the treasures of Waitomo above and below ground. We have glowworms and fossils and skeletons of birds and animals. Learn about our local community and history. Understand the geology and development of our caves and limestone (karst) landscapes.
We show movies free of charge, there are activities for children and we have a cave crawl for the adventurous.
