For a full glimpse behind-the-scenes of filmmaking, we recommend booking one of our incredible tours. Photography is strictly prohibited in our tour spaces, though is permitted at our creative workshops (129 Park Road) with guides approval. On-street parking is free but can get busy. Please allow ample time to find a park. There is no luggage storage in the Wētā Cave or at our tour spaces.
To cancel an existing booking, please contact us on +64 4 909 4035 or email bookings@wetaworkshop.co.nz with your booking reference and full name. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response. If cancellation is made within 24 hours of arrival, there is no refund available. If cancellation is made within 48 hours of arrival, we will refund 50% of the total booking price. If a tour is cancelled by Wētā Studio Tours, we can reschedule your tour to another day that suits you or offer a full refund.
With the guidance of Wētā Workshop’s experienced events technicians, you will create your own movie magic right here in Wellington. Your host will be just like you - a true fan. There’s no difference between the people who work at Wētā Workshop and our fans - we’re all into the same cool stuff and your host will teach you the tricks of the trade. Options available - Introduction to SFX, Introduction to Sculpting and Introduction to Leatherwork. All subject to availability.
