A 'Family' pass is available at a rate of $1,025 (based on 2 adults travelling with 2 children aged 15 and under)
1st October to 14th May (inclusive). Those in control of the rail cart must hold a valid NZ driver's licence. Young children are most welcome in the rail carts as long as they are securely strapped into a car seat or booster seat appropriate for their age. Prices quoted are based on twin share, single supplement may apply. Prices quoted are inclusive of GST and all taxes.
If for any reason you cancel your experience, whilst we are unable to refund the deposit, we will keep it on file so you can use it again if you book another date with us or you can transfer it to another experience. All FWA experiences incorporate an iconic self-driven rail cart journey on the 142km long historic Stratford-Okahukura Line (SOL). The Tokirima Taster is a memorable half-day guided 40km rail cart adventure to or from the old rural community of Tokirima. Venture through 10 hand-built tunnels including the longest at 1.5km, immerse yourself in the culture and history of the region and marvel at the engineering and determination of our pioneers. A stroll & refreshments at Lauren's Lavender Farm completes the itinerary. An intriguing introduction to the Forgotten World. Includes: Rail-side food and drinks, Lavender Farm visit and transfers. Optional extras: Accommodation at Forgotten World Motel. Departs: 7.30am or 11am from Taumarunui.
