Shopping in Queenstown

Sie sind hier

Queenstown is all about top notch shopping experiences surrounded by movie-star landscapes.

Combine quality boutiques, big brands and charming streets with views of soaring mountains and a turquoise-blue lake, and you’ve got Queenstown – one of the country’s most scenically stunning places to go shopping.

Charming lakeside shopping

The downtown shopping precinct, right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, is compact and easy to explore.  Combining big brands with local boutiques, beautiful jewellery stores, art galleries and souvenir shops, this is a great place to head to purchase sheepskin products, greenstone jewellery, wool clothing and possum fur items. Pick up a beautiful piece of New Zealand contemporary art from one of the many larger galleries.

The boutique village of Arrowtown

A short 20 minute drive from Queenstown is Arrowtown, where you’ll feel as if you have stepped back in time. A historic gold rush settlement, Arrowtown’s leafy, tree-lined streets and gold rush-era architecture offers a special shopping destination. Fine wool stores, local arts, high quality fashion and delicious foods dot the picturesque streets.

Feast on world-class wine & cheese

Known as the ‘Valley of the Vines’, Gibbston is a stunningly scenic wine growing region that’s known for its top-notch pinot noir. A short drive from Queenstown, this is heaven for those that like to shop with their taste buds. Stop in for tastings at Amisfield Winery, Gibbston Valley Winery or Peregrine Wines; and ensure you add washed rind and sheep’s milk cheeses to your picnic basket from one of the many delicious local cheese makers.

Queenstown’s creative markets

Surrounded by such a stunning environment, it’s no wonder creativity abounds for Queenstown’s locals. See the creative culture up close for yourself at one of the town’s vibrant creative markets.

The Saturday Creative Queenstown Art & Craft Market runs throughout the year, featuring 100% New Zealand made goods. Enjoy the beautiful outdoor location, live music and find a unique, high-quality gift. Held every Saturday morning in Earnslaw Park.

Combining locally made crafts and gifts with a tasty selection of local produce, the Remarkables Market is the perfect way to enjoy a sunny Saturday during summer. It’s known for its wide range of stallholders.  Held every Saturday in summer from 8.30am.
