Fill out a health and safety form if you wish to wander the back trails. The waterways are not fenced and the trails can become slippery in wet weather or in the winter. Wear a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Wear insect repellent in the summer season. In stormy weather cancel 12-24 hours before. A full refund will apply.

Take 2-4 hours as Family Time to picnic and then meander along the nature trails at Tree Heart Park together. Sit on a park bench beside the lagoon to connect or to just breathe. Play some indoor and outdoor games on the lawn, or simply relax with a magazine or book. Your picnic hamper is filled to the brim with goodies. Use the picnic rug, the hammocks, the loungers, or the outdoor table beside Granny Ma's self-service tea and coffee hut. Pop the umbrella up for shade and look out towards The Lagoon of The Star Children (Te Hapua o Matariki). The Tree Heart Park Gift Shop is open-a little botanical, vintage, kiwiana, local honey, preserves and of course, chocolate and fudge. Tree Heart Park-a place where time stands still.
